Occupy Wall Street. Really. By camping and picketing all over major cities. Getting yourself arrested or even hurt. Challenging the law and the guys that create the laws. Wall Street is simply a symptom of the way the country’s leaders have been steering our political and economic agenda for decades. Protesting and carrying signs in the parks and streets is really not the solution. It may not be easy to see how the masses of people sitting in the park, picking in the streets, and putting up peaceful, but determined protests will not work to the advantage of the “99 percent”. You need to empower yourself as a movement. Empower yourself with today’s technology, not card board signs.
I understand the frustrations of the unemployed, not having any job is even worse than not having a bad job. I understand the frustration of recently graduated students with higher educations that cannot find a way to pay back the tens of thousands of dollars in student and educational loans. The solution is not in grabbing a sign, and a pup tent and sitting in the park, dressed up as zombies or the living dead. Come on people. most of us have lived our lives with difficult or challenging choices, good and bad. most of us wake up everyday saying I am going to do more than I did yesterday to change what I did or didn’t do yesterday. Its called life.
If life has dealt you a wrong hand, sitting in the park in a pup tent, holding a card board sign saying how unfair the 99 percent are being treated is lame. Seriously lame.
Take action, sure that’s what all Americans need to do…. but you need to find the right action that will get the most bang out of your “buck” using peaceful and diplomatic means. Heck as citizens we put these leaders in office and have been rubber stamping this behavior for decades. You change the policies and the frustrations from the top down, not by pushing from the bottom up!
Take action.
Organize yourself and write your senators, representatives, everyday. Start an email campaign, shoot them an email every day letting them know you are frustrated and what they plan to do about it. Write daily, email daily. Seriously start clogging up the infrastructure and inundate them with massive amounts of communication from everyone. Right now they are not bothered by your movement because they can simply turn off the 5 minutes of daily coverage and go back to their cozy lifestyles in the elected offices they hold, meeting with the corporate lobbyiest that fund their existence. I have seen no elected official in any city, state, or national level joining in this movement anywhere…..
Write and email your Congress representatives
Write and email your Senate representative.
Start a blog using empower network, and blog everyone, Start a blog and blog everyday, post your yourtube videos, post your Movement photos, fill facebook up with status updates, twitter every 10 minutes about how your feeling, twitter your congressman, twitter your senator, comment on their facebook fanpages, blog about their job ratings they are doing as your representative. Posting a blog everyday about what is frustrating you about Wall Street my get more attention. Now multiply that by tens of thousands of people in every city, that’s protesting
Don’t you think that standing in the park with a cardboard sign getting rained on for hours on hours, may be a bit archaic by today’s standards.
Pick up your iPads, your Blackberry’s, your Macs, your PC’s and start posting, twittering, sharing status updates, emailing and printing letters to mail. A Million member campaign, a Million times a day…. for a Million minutes….. Well maybe just a little over 11 days….. Priceless! Now go get their attention using technology!
