Cash Gifting has been around since the beginning of currency, Cash Gifting activity come in all shapes and forms, even the US Constitution and Current IRS Tax Code, has provisions explaining the Giving of Cash. I ahve had a great deal of inquiries about cash gifting as of late and spoken to a great deal of people that actual participate in this activity every day.
Most people are just like you and I, deciding to voluntarily participate in this activity, by choice, simply to compliment or supplement their current income. As long as people continue to freely give away cash, and do so with the intent as a gift to the receiver, with no intention of receiving any return, or understand that any cash gift, is not an investment, nor going for the exchange of product, that the total sum of the gift, upwards of $13,00 maximum can be given to any single individual by as many other individuals every year, as wish to give a gift of cash to that person.
As long as no one is forced to give a gift, or has any expectation that they will be receiving anything in return, or consider the cash as an investment or a purchase, which does violate SEC rules, then the act of giving a cash gift up to $13,000 to any one individual is considered tax free money.
That is my understanding of what a cash gift is.
