As I continue to share information on my blog to my readers, over the past few months, I constantly receive eMails asking for links to the different resources I would write about, review, or have comments on. If you decide to begin blogging and are able to commit to providing fresh content almost daily, you will eventually develop a following, and this can make you a lot of money! You can actually turn your blog into your own personal “ATM Machine” and have it spitting out money every day!
When posting on your blog, every post should be attempting to spark an interest in the information that you are sharing with your reader. Keeping content fresh and new will help you attract, and keep visitors coming back more often, have them use features to follow and receive your posts, and look around your blog for other interesting information you offer. Why not have active links to interesting resources that they want to purchase for themselves.
For instance, I recently finished reading one of Robert Kiyosaki’s books titled: ”Rich Dad, Conspiracy of the Rich.” In my opinion , he provided a great deal of information and I wanted to recommend it to my readers. I went to Amazon, found the book, created a link to it so I could post it on my site where my readers can purchase it directly from me.
Blogging is one way to expand your business and create additional cash flow in secondary sales of resources, and tools that you are excited about and resulting in building strong relationships with your readers, customers and prospects.
By blogging, you are able to share your knowledge in your area of interest or expertise, as well as get valuable feedback from visitors, readers and your customers. It also allows you and your business to be completely accessible to the public on the internet, thus improving your business’ brand and image and creating future sales of your primary products as well.
To have a successful business blog, some key points you will have to consider when building it will be:
1.Clearly identify your target customer and reader base. Your target audience can be readers , prospects, or other business professionals that have similar interest in what your blog offers. The reason they will need to visit your blog should be evident to them and the additional items that you re promoting or advertising should be relevant to this audience. By clearly recognizing your target audience your blog posts and product offers will more appropriate for them. By keeping your audience in the back of your mind when developing your content, your blog will become more effective and secondary sales and the sale of your primary products will increase as viewership increases
2. Have a clear idea of what your post should be designed to accomplish for you. Your blog’s main theme should be related to the arena that your business is involved in and should be what you are the most passionate about writing and speaking about. No one likes a boring, uninterested salesperson when visiting any “store” and your blog is your “store”. Creating Posts about something that is not of any interest to you are your readers will not do your blog any good and you goal of creating sales will fail miserably. You should also take into consideration what your target audience would like to read and see on your blog. Stick to topics that can satisfy your audience’s curiosity, help solve problems and provide solutions in the way you create offers, include banner ads, and write posts. Try too create content for them with information that they won’t be able to find elsewhere.
3. When creating a post, write directly to your viewers and readers. When writing I always try to create in a way that speaks directly to my readers, making every effort to actually create conversation with them. You want to establish yourself as an authority figure, and have fun with what you are offering them in the way of information, ideas, suggestions, and recommendations that push them to take some action, whether to request additional information or to actually make a purchase from your blog. Also, welcome your readers’ ideas, request them to leave comments or suggestions on their posts to you, and try to create a dialogue which opens discussions with them and potential future sales. The main goal in building your business blog, is to generate sales and you want to have your readers, eventually become customers, by getting them to feel comfortable with you and your business.
4. Be yourself. Don’t become something that you are not. You want to be genuine enough so that your readers know that they are dealing with someone that they can trust, and can be comfortable with in buying from. Share your thoughts and feelings about what you are offering with honesty and integrity. Write from your own point of view and state your authentic opinions, but saying something that may offend someone. You always want to edify, not nullify.
5.Be A problem solver Address problems immediately and offer solutions that will help your readers, become prospects, prospects become customers, and customers become referrals. Most businesses need to have two things to be successful…. repeat customers and new customers. Without both your dead in the water and will not create sales. By becoming a problem solver and providing solutions for your readers to take action you stand to gain the most in immediate and future long term sales. You want to have the full trust and support of your readers, thus creating no doubts about you and your business.
By building a business blog and staying active and providing fresh content at least every week you will eventually develop traffic to your site. Creating content daily would be optimal, as search engine like Google will recognize the activity, and provide the optimization for your site to climb in the rankings. Make sure you are targeting the keywords in your post titles and your content, that will assist in the targeting of your audience and reaching new and repeat readers. Engage your readers to comment and review your posts to create activity that others will become interested in being involved with on your blog, and finally provide content and links to recommendations that may be of interest to your readers to solve problems or provide solutions for them to become your customer and create sales for you.
One of the best resources I have found to educate myself about the “art” of creating a business blog to make money is accessing some of the free training provided when I became a member of
