There is no lack of MLM prospecting tips to be found on the internet but what I want ot share here are three key tips for you to learn that will put you in the right frame of mind and help you become a Phone Ninja, when calling and connecting with your leads on the TELEPHONE!. In this industry your best friend is the phone, and your mindset combined with talking to several prospects on a daily basis. This is what will ultimately create an abundance of success and catapult you to succeed. There is one thing for sure, this business is built on relationships and relationships only.

Some of the biggest names in this industry will tell you it was the relationships they built with people who caused them to get where they are today. Learning to interact and build your interpersonal relationship skills and develop a mind set of success will be the best thing that you can develop bar none.

MLM Ninja Tip # One: Create that “Pseudo Ego” That Projects an Abundance Mentality

If you don’t get confident in your value as a sponsor, people will never join you. Step up and offer what you have, right up front, why you are the obvious choice to partner with. Every person on this planet has some sort of value to offer. Even if you are not a hugh success in network marketing you still have value to offer.

Figure out what that value is, and remain confident in it, because that will make all the difference.

Why Baby Boomers are Jumping from Traditional Businesses to Network Marketing

Since childhood, Most educational systems and career guidance directs the adult population to get a good education, get a good job, or start a career after school, keep it for 40 to 50 years and retire, living comfortably there after. most of us have learned in the past 10 years, especially in the last four how broke this system is.

Baby boomers have spent the past four to five decades planning and saving for their retirement, only to have lost some if not most of all of what they have worked for all their lives. Those from my generation, still with the capacity to work for another twenty years or so, are beginning to rethink the JOB model or the traditional business model, and beginning to opt for the concept of network marketing to obtain greater financial security and create residual income in the glory years of our lives.

Many baby boomers are familiar with or have experience in both network marketing and traditional business, but do baby boomers, now feeling under pressure financially again in the latter part of their lives, really understand the major difference? In my recent prospecting, speaking with other baby boomers as well as younger professionals I’ve found that a lot of the population is looking for extra money right now and hurting big time, but just do not realize that there are other options out there right now to restart their income and cash flow, and create a significant amount of wealth in a very short amount of time with less effort than a job, or traditional business model would provide at a considerable amount less.

In this weak economy, people are losing their jobs left and right, no one feels secure depending on other people to keep food on the table with a job. We all recognize that jobs will never make you wealthy anyways. So what’s the alternative to not working a job but still creating wealth and a lucrative income in a weak economy? There are really only two major options baby boomers should consider and one having start up costs of less than $500 or so right now to launch a new career:

1. Network Marketing

2. Traditional Business

Network Marketing Vs. Traditional Business

My Sponsor in my primary network opportunity recently shared a story about one of his friends to make this relative and really illustrate the difference between these two major categories. Lets call his friend Joe for sake of arguement, Joe is a real person and experienced this happening :

Joe was working in corporate America as a big executive. He had a fancy office with a great view, a large amount of people working under him, made good money, and had a fancy title that he could brag about to people. Joe also happened to work 60-80 hours a week and barely got to spend time with his family, but his thought process was “that’s just the price you pay to live a great lifestyle and take care of your family.”

Every day that Joe drove to work, he passed his neighbor’s house. His neighbor, John, had a big, beautiful house. The house had bright green grass, a huge pool and lanai out back, large columns in front and big iron double doors. Joe envied his neighbor because every time Joe kissed his kids good bye at 7 am and got in his car to drive to work, his neighbor would wave from the front steps in a bath robe and then walked right back inside to spend the day with this family.

That day Joe made a decision. He knew that John owned his own business and was completely financially free, so he decided he no longer wanted to be part of the corporate rat race and he would go out on his own! It just so happened that Joe got laid off that day anyways, but he knew it was coming because his company had been in trouble for quite some time.

Joe didn’t panic, he already had a plan to open a coffee shop in his area.

A few months later he spent $250,000 getting his coffee shop off the ground and running and is so excited it’s finally ready to go! He hires a ton of employees, a manager, and holds a grand opening. Long story short, his employees kept stealing from the register, he ended up working 80-90 hours a week (even more than his job), made less money even after 3 years of being open for business, and was actually barely making a profit.

Joe was so frustrated and beaten down, he decided to go see John and ask him what he should do. John, his neighbor, was successful happy and free so he must know the answer. What do you think John did for a living? Network marketing! (this is a true story). John explained the benefits of network marketing vs. traditional business to Joe, even though Joe was skeptical because his unsuccessful brother and sister in law had tried one of “those things” and it didn’t do anything.

Network marketing has created more millionaires than any other industry, but unfortunately more times than most a lot of people have been so poisoned by the mass thinking that people don’t understand it’s true power.

Joe joined John’s network marketing company and after 2 years was making multiple six figures then went on to become a multi millionaire with the industry after 5 years.

Benefits of Network Marketing:

1. No boss

2. Low overhead

3. Low start up cost

4. Unlimited profit potential

5. No employees

6. No headaches or emergencies

7. Financial and time freedom

Benefits of Traditional Business:

1. No boss, but you get to work 80 to 100 hours a week, managing, employees, payroll, inventory, overhead, human resources, business taxes, leases, loan payments, banking, investors, if you have them, emergencies, the risk, lack luster sales, and so forth, trying all the while to have a life that you can enjoy with family, friends and self.

Most people think traditional business is “the way of life” because it’s been hammered into our minds over and over again. Of course there are many successful traditional businesses and I commend them for that, however there is also a lot of risk, capital and headaches that come with it.

I bought into this for years, while working for other people and companies thinking that at some point after my 60, 70 ,80 hour work weeks away from my family I would get my big break. NEVER HAPPENED!

I used to be a skeptic because I wasn’t properly educated on network marketing and I listened to the masses when I should’ve been paying attention to the people I wanted to model my life after.

I was a broke 40 something year old restaurant manager who didn’t know anyone outside the restaurant I spent 12 to 14 hours a day operating, learning that traditional business was no longer an option for me so I tried something new.

“When YOU Keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result You begin to realize that this is really the definition of insanity”

I decide to stop the Insanity and partner up with someone that was going or already where I wanted to BE!

One of the biggest problems that MLM marketers face everyday is how to generate MLM Leads, prospects that will actually be interested in looking at their business opportunity.

This is the number one challenge every marketer faces and having this problem or challenge is what everyone faces in the beginning and is really unavoidable unless you already have an instant downline developed from another opportunity that you may have been involved with. 99 percent of us have not been that fortunate.

Some people who are in this business actually need to learn how to generate MLM leads. They do not know that they can actually generate traffic simply through proper use of the internet. Yes, through the following 5 strategies of generating MLM leads, anyone can begin to develop traffic in no time. They will also be able to achieve atracting the number of people that they want to potential look at, qualify and join them in there primary business.

The first strategy to generate quality leads is utilizing the most famous websites on the internet today, social networking sites. Websites such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIN can actually be used for increasing traffic and become valuable allies in the generation of prospects. With the use of your own free account, you can share business contents, articles, information about your products or even videos. In your main page, create a welcome tab and an option form so that your visitors will be able to request more information from access free content, share their opinions, ideas and comments. This can be valuable in developing your brand, building freindships and relationships and gaining prospects who become interested and want to look at your opportunity.

The second way to become familiar with in order to generate quality MLM leads is through YouTube and Video Marketing. By subscribing to a channel, people will be able to take notice of your niches, listen to training, suggestions, short testimonials from you about what’s going on, with your business. The videos that you will be using should have several keywords tagged with descriptions. You should also plan to provide a URL so that your visitors can be redirected once they click the tags or finish watching your presentations.Most computers today include free software to record videos either on your hard drive or to be dowloaded right to your youtube account for all the world to see.

The third strategy to generate quality MLM leads is through the use of several blogs such as WordPress. By using this strategy, you will be utilizing free hosted blogs and personal websites for sharing content, ideas, updates and news about how you and your business is doing. When you provide valuable information that others can relate to, you will attract others that want to look at your business and will want to work with you. Your blog will help brand you and your company. The visitors will judge you according to the type of blog that you are using and the contents that you have, therefore your blogs should be unique and straight to the point. The key to this strategy is to always be vigilant and consistent when it comes to your blogs. You need to post several entries daily so that your visitors will not be bored.

The fourth strategy is pretty straight forward. Pick up the phone and call people. Now I know that sounds scary but wait a minute. Imagine if you could do this with no rejection, never receiving any NO’s, never having to explain anything, and without speaking to a single person. Now without getting to detailed of an explanation, I could teach you a very simple system and in about 10 minutes have you on your way to calling about 50 – 60 people an hour, leave a very specific voice message, not having a single person hangup on you, and have as many as 5 to 10 of those people return your call for more information about your opportunity, and its a completely free system. How many people could you call each day? I know one gentleman who perfected this strategy and earns upwards of 5 figure incomes in his primary business every week with this method. Pretty cool. Finally, the last free strategy today is a simple method of harvesting serious business professional contact information, right from the comfort of your home, using your PC. There are a huge number of companies out there that want to either sell you leads, or rent you leads of all kinds, and software companies that will sell you expensive and sometimes inaccurate lead information that are using this exact method that I can show you a free method to find qualified business opportunity buyers and network marketing professionals that you may be able to contact at anytime, using the above phone strategy, build a relationship with, become friends with and potentially discuss your opportunity with. And this strategy has an endless supply of leads that you could never exhaust if you worked it for 18 hours a day, 7 days a week. And you can share it with your new members to jump start their businesses right from day one.

Baby Boomers and Retiree’s Discover an Option to Financial Worries

While the buzz continues to be about the economy and the recession, which politicians continue to tell us baby boomers that it has supposedly been over for quite some time, many people, especially the baby boomer generation, are still feeling its effects. And it is quite possible that Baby Boomers are having the hardest time bouncing back, given that they have been hit hard in their income, taxes, and retirement plans all at the same time.

If you are a baby boomer then you probably have been following the news. If you are not then you are going to be shocked. A recent U.S. News & World Report article examines “The Recession’s Impact on Baby Boomer Retirement.” Here are some of the key take-away points from the article:

Although the recession affected all age groups, Baby Boomers may not have enough time to rebuild their retirement savings, forcing many to put off retirement or live on a lower retirement income than they expected. Baby Boomers are having a difficult time because companies do not want to give jobs to baby boomers at the incomes baby boomers were accustomed to.
On the other side of the coin, some Baby Boomers were forced into early retirement because they were unable to find new employment after losing jobs during the recession, thus cutting short retirement plans and falling short of personal financial plans for their retirement
This has caused household income for those ages 55-64 to fall by 6 to 10 percent or more, and continues to drop annually due to inflation and the devaluation of the US dollar.

As a result, employers are becoming more aware and need to be ready for older workers, this generation of baby boomers, who are going to have to remain in the workforce longer than expected due to the financial struggles they have encountered in the past few years, or who are returning to the workforce on a part-time basis to supplement a less than sufficient retirement income.

A recent Staffing Industry Analysts article listed policy issues that employers will have to reexamine in light of this trend. At the top of the list? Offering “more flexible work patterns,” including telecommuting, consulting, and reduced hours.

This all plays into the trend that has been reported on for the past couple of years. When companies decide to bring older workers in a on part-time, consulting or contract basis, employers can gain or retain these workers’ knowledge, while the workers can supplement their income and remain active on a more flexible basis so they can enjoy other activities and time with family.

But not all baby boomers or retiree’s may want to return to the traditional workforce, or cannot find sufficient work to maintain or replace the loss income and the lifestyle they have grown accustomed to over the past few years. They may want to become involved with a vehicle to enhance their lifestyle, live securely, and still have the freedom that was afforded to them from all their years of hard work.

Many senior citizens have turned to Network Marketing. Some of the reasons are they can start their own business right from home for under $500. They know many people who are in the same position as they are and who would like to be active. Working from home eliminates the commute, and most are already comfortable with speaking to others and networking already in their circle of influence over the years. Traditional businesses offer weaker positions for the masses and most companies don’t want to engage the elderly beyond bagging groceries, allowing someone to pour coffee or serve fries, and become greeters at WalMart, for a mere pittance of the earnings they may have been afforded at an earlier time in life.

Offline Prospecting Tips You Can Use to Jump Start Your MLM Business

MLM prospecting does not have to be complicated. When starting out, most people try to complicate mlm prospecting and turn it into work. There are simple ways to prospect new people everyday, passively, without a great deal of effort. This is called passive prospecting.

Advertising your business offline can be a powerful option when starting a home based business and when you do not really know a great deal of techie stuff like blogging, email marketing, voice broadcasting and other online marketing techniques to attract potential prospects and leads to look at your new opportunity. Most people stare at their computer screens for hours, days even weeks at a time when starting out, trying to find people to promote their business to with no results. You don’t have to wait to learn techie stuff.

You should start exposing a business opportunity in the beginning any way you can, while learning some online techniques by using some rather simple offline venues that all of us are already plugged into and experiencing everyday of our lives. Just doing simple things that expose your opportunity to people will eventually find you real prospects that may be interested in making more money and talking to you about the details of your opportunity, and even may not be into techie stuff either.

Remember, mlm prospecting is not about selling anything. mlm prospecting is about the act of marketing, or sharing it with others and allowing them the opportunity to decide whether they are into it or not. You will receive 95% NO’s, day in and day out. No’s are a reality of our industry, get over it and enjoy the YES’s, and help those that get started to build their businesses.

Idea #1 Tiny Classified Ads This is a simple way to get started, placing simple inexpensive ads in local papers, and pennysavers. You can place tiny classified ads in your local newspaper looking for people who have an interest in starting a home based business.

Start small by placing one or two ads and measure the results. How many people respond and how many of those become customers or team members? Then crunch the numbers to determine if your advertising is profitable. If it is then roll out your ads to even more newspaper and magazines to widen the reach of this mlm prospecting system. If not, keep testing different headlines and calls to actions until you find a winning combination.

Idea #2- Attend Events in your area Find good networking events, trade shows, or conferences in your area, and connect with people. Get as many business cards either by asking or taking from displays people may have set up, without introducing what you do. Remember do not pitch them on your company or opportunity. Always ask questions about them and build the relationship, how they are doing, and be excited about the meet and greet interaction they have with you.

The magic happens the next day. What you do next will separate you from everyone there. You’re going to want to follow up with them and ask a simple question… “Hey we met yesterday at the meetup group, you seemed like an awesome person, I just had a simple question for you, do you ever take a look at side projects, keeping your options open, even if it doesn’t interfere with what you are already doing”

Idea #3- Create a Stamp and Scatter POST-IT Notes: This idea is an awesome one. What you want to do is get a stamp for about $10 and have it say something like, “Superstars Only – Make $200k this year. don’t even call unless you are a producer and can prove it” This technique will get you “leads”, so it’s important to have something like that to weed out the tire kickers. Call 1(800) 555 1234

Note: Don’t use your actual number; use a something like Google voice. Once you get them on the phone, remember that you are the one asking questions.

Idea #4- Bandit (Realtor ) Signs Ever see realtor signs in your neighborhoods while driving around to and from work, school, church, or the grocery store. Getting the phone numbers and contact information from real estate signs is something that can be done as you are going about your day. You are driving to the grocery store and see a realtor sign. Slow down, get the number of the realtor and call them. Ask them some details about the property, to contact you with more informatio, all the while building a little rapport. When they call kindly advise them that the property may not be right for you, you may be interested at another time, and eventually work in your pitch, asking them the question “Would you be open to a way to making an income that has nothing to do with real estate.”

These are people that are already working on commission and are hurting in this economy.

Idea #5- Restaurant owners, managers, and servers. Restaurant personnel can be the best prospects when approached correctly. they all work very hard, with the goal of maximizing income and cash flow every week. When dining out, ask the hostess seating you for the best server in the joint. While dining, interact with the server to find out more about them. After the meal do not tip the server yet, but do ask to speak with the owner or manager and compliment the heck out of the service and obviously giving them the credit for the performance of their employee.

Then ask them a similar inquiry as mentioned before: “You seem like an awesome person, I have a question for you, do you ever look at side projects, keeping your options open, even if it doesn’t interfere with what you are already doing”

If the owner or manager does not seem like at good candidate or shuns your advance, then afterwards, pull the server aside with tip in hand compliment them rave about the great experience they provided and pop the pitch, asking them the same thing.

This will position you as an awesome person, a possible leader and as someone who can potentially solve a cash flow problem or fill a need that the server or manager/owner may have.

Caught in the Rat Race Because You’re Working 70 Hours a Week

The other day I heard a story from my upline about how a prospect, a man in his 40′s or 50′s, I am not really sure, responded to the business opportunity being presented to a group of potential candidates at an open home business meeting. When asked what he thought about the presentation, he replied,” Oh I don’t have time for that, I work 70 hours a week, sometimes more!” Immediately the hostess of the meeting, replied something like…. So how long do you plan on doing that?

The reason she was able to reply so confidently, is that she is for all intensive purposes, retired, not working a traditional day job for a lack of better wording, , (her business career spanning an age, now just in her mid twenty-something’s)

She has built a five figure monthly residual income in just a few short, two years, with her primary company. She has basically given up the “Rat Race” for a lifestyle most of us in our forty’s or fifty’s have only dreamed about. What’s point for writing this….

If you are not building a residual income, you are in a rat race. The best interest of corporate America or the corporate world, is to keep you in that rat race performing so that they can profit from your hard work, keeping you in a constant cycle of “chasing the cheese” dangling just enough to keep you coming back 70 hours a week, giving up time, freedom, and quality of life, with your children, spouse, family and friends, knowing all well that if you stop at any time you will fall flat on your financial butt and lose everything you already have in life. This is a vicious cycle, the rat race you are caught in will continue unless you decide to change the way you think about creating and generating income. lets talk about how you can get out of it (and why you really should want to).

Know that the better and more capable of an employee you are, the more is expected of you. Sometimes the worst thing that can happen, long term, is to get a raise or promotion or become so proficient at your job that that because you are scene as so valuable that by securing that raise or promotion and in the process of keeping that job, actually causes the negative effect and forces you to work longer hours and miss truly important things in life.

NO AMOUNT OF SALARY IS WORTH MISSING IMPORTANT FAMILY MOMENTS. You can never get back the time you missed out on taking your kids to school, watching their soccer, football or cheerleader practice, those are gone forever and when you get to the end of your days you will NEVER wish you would have worked on that company project longer or tried to do better at work.

How to Get Out of the Rat Race

You may be making a ton of money but if you are not creating a residual income, you are going to keep working for years if not decades the same or more amount of hours, everyday, trading dollars for hours. You can build a residual income extremely part time by just following a small set of instructions:

1. Find a mentor that you connect with and you can learn from them, how you can create and grow a residual income working towards obtaining a lifestyle that you desire..

2. Have a vehicle, an opportunity that will introduce people to an alternative way of creating additional cashflow

3. Set in your mind that you are going to introduce this vehicle to at least three new people every day on a daily basis to build momentum in your business (if you are working 90 hours a week, just show 3 people per day)

4. Have your leader train those new people for you and help them.

Slowly build that residual income, don’t make any rash decisions like quitting too early, and chip away. This is a long term process and decision but if you think about it, so is slaving away for someone else. The alternative to NOT doing this will have you missing even more time away from loved ones and running into scenarios such as Allan and John. I hope this helps some of you understand and realize that it doesn’t take a miracle to get out of the rat race and if you look back over the last 2 years, would you have traded an hour a day back then to have built a $5,000-$10,000 a month residual income? I bet you would !!!
